Sidelights on Fighting in Greece
Received Monday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 14. The Greek guerrillas' attaclc on Florina must be examined in the light of the Greek Communist Party decision, inspired by the Ooniinform, to separate Macedonia irom Greece, says the Daily Telegraph's Atherfs correspondent. Cominentators consider that the guerrillas' real purpose, under Cominform dietation, was to encircle Yugoslavia from the south. Now that the Greek Communists have been purged of elemen^s. sympatheitc to Tito, the failure to capture Florina is a severe blow to Cominform policy. Communist Party supporters strongly condemn the separatist aims and the Greek Socialist Party, which was elosely allied to the Communists during the oecupation, dissociated itself from tlie new policy stating that' the Communists were isolating themselves from all Greek people as weil as from their owxi followers^
