Constable's Fall Into Plateglass Window

WELLINGTON, Feb. 13. Whilc attempting to make ari arrest in the eity at midniglit last uight, Constable Z. A. Jacobs fell through a plateglass window severing an arterj in his let't wrist. After he lost a considerable amount of blood, a tourniquet was applied to his ann before he was ruslied to hospital for a transfusion. His 'condition was at lirst serious but it becaine sat isfaetory later today. Jnst before uiidnight Constable Jacobs approached two men in' Wilhs Street but wlien he went to take theni into custody, they resisted arrest. In the subsequent scuffle he fell through the window of a fuiniture shop. However, another constable caine to his assistance and both men were detained until a patrol car arrivcd.
