Received Friday, 10.50 a,m. SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 10. The flssionable core of the atomic bomb is the size of a golf ball and equal to 5,400,000 lbs. of T.N.T., Lieut,- General William R. Stark, of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, told industrial leaders at 4 meeting in Los An^eles; General Stark said that the bomb's blast is - no different from qther bombs, except in its force. ''The flash heat can inflict burns at 4 distance of three miles." He declared that radio-activity was responsible for ten per cent. 6f the deaths in Japan, and said that many deaths ascribed tn shock and burns would have oecurred from radio-activity anyhow^.
