WELLINGTON, ■ Feb. 8. Responsibiiity for any trouble in the carpentering trade over the new award, would rest with the empioyers, said a resolution adopted tonight at a meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Carpenters' and Joiners'" Union. The resolution declarod that members condemned the action of empioyers in relusing to agree to an amendinent of award cond'itions and eudorsed a recent statement issued by the uational executive of the union. Members considered that builders generatly Were being misrepresented by the Empioyers' Association and by a few big builders who were concerned with profits rather than the welfare of the workers in the industry in whose efforts depended the welfare of the people generally in the production of hoines and other aecommodatio'n. Profits made by builders and contractors were, furthermore, at an all-time high level, it was contended.
