Personal Miss Edna Taylor, of Te Horo, is visiting the Wairarapa. Miss Barbara Monk, of ; Lupin Road, left on Tuesday to spend a fortnight in Hawera. Mr.' and Mrs. L. G. .Gimblett, of Main Street, .are on a holfday in the North. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Bills, of Beh Street, are spending a fortnight's holiday in Rotorua and Tauranga. Mr. F. ' Snowdon, of Iti Street, is at present on a short visit to Featherston. Mr. D, C. Taylor, of Rangiuru Road, is on holiday, a portion of which will ibe spent in the Hutt prior to visiting Feilding. Bowlers to Visit Castlecliff - . On February 20 six rinks from the Otaki Railway Bowling Club visit the Castlecliff club to playfor the Coxon Rose .Boyd- On February 13 and 27 all day tournamenls will be played on the Railway green. Visiting1 Artists v : The Citizens' Queen Committee reports having been extremely fortunate in securing a party of 32 ieading Wellington musical and variety artists for the concert to be presented on February 13. The audience can, therefore, look forward to a programme of outetanding merit.
Trotting at Otaki Many years. have elapsed since trotting races were held at Otaki ,and the response from the owners j of square-gaiters to tne programme ! presented by the Maori Queen Committee for the matinee meeting on Saturday next is very gratifying. Entries have heen receive'd from Petone, Ashhurst, Foxton and Otaki, and some good class horses. figure among the hominations. Mahy ' ' closely ;cont'ested' heads were fought out and at the end of the day a rink comprising four sisters, tne No. 3 player being thei.popu)ar secretary of the Otaki Ladfes' Club, Mrs. J. Rodgers, and the skip, Mrs. Collins, of Kilbirnie, emerged undefeated. Mrs. Collins also skipped the team from Kilbirnie which won the last tourney for lady bowlers on the same green. Visitors expressed thei'r appfsciation of the hospitality extended by the iQcal club.
