A request by the' CombiiiPd Seamen's Institutes Committee for a street day on a date5 suitable to the council was declined. It Was stated that . the street 'day sc'hedule for 1949 had already buen c'pmpiled, and that the organisation in ques/tioh had beeii granted a day last year and had fdite'd td iriake Usd of it. It was dec'i'ded to advise the organisation that it should make application in November.
