WELLINGTON, Feh. 7. The Wellington City branch of the R.S.A. wants to see capital punishment reintroduced in New Zealand. I A meeting of the branch decided to | ta*.e the issue up with the Wellington R.S.A. with the aim of urging reintroduction on the authorities. The president of the city branch, Mr. R. J. Secker, said today that the increasing number of murders in the country made a reinstatement of the death sentence a national issue and not merely a party political matter. He said that several grand 'juries had^ecommended the reintroduction of the death penalty after recent murder cases but apparently little had been done about it. He added that* the late John Kehoe and many other returned servicemen escaped death in battle only to meet it at the hands of fellow countrymen.
