CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 6. North Island riders scodped the pool in the New Zealand grass track cycie championships at • Lancaster Park on Saturday and shoved a greater knowledge of conditidns which werp strange to Canterbury , men accustomed to banked asphalt tracks. The best performance of the day was put up by G. E. Lambert ( Auckland) in the three miles paced championship. He beat the holder of the tifle, E.'L. G. Hughcs, in a close finish in 7min. 14 3-5 sec., 73 1-5 seconds better than Hughes did last year. . Several spills marred some of the events. ResultS' of finals: — Junior half-niile: M.
