Marching Honour to Team From Levin

The Caledonian team from Levin won _ the Wellington Marching Association's open championship at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, on Saturday. its leader, Miss S. J. 'Smith, was the highest scorei; in the leaders' competition. Under the capable guidance of its coach, Mr. J. R. Macfarlane, the Caledonian team has reached a very high standard of marching. Saturday's success was its third consecutive win in open events, while the team also annexed the Manawatu Centre championship. it will be interesting to see how the Caledonian team fares at the North Island championships, to be held in Palmerston North on Saturday, February 26. Levin appears to have its best chance yet of securing the title. •
