Membefrs of the Hautere Defence Rifle Club met on the range at Hautere last weekend and shot over 800 and 900 yards. ; The following scores were obtain- ' ed off the rifle: F. Freeman 48 — 48 — ' 96, B. F. Monk 49—45—94, L. E. Monk 46 — 46— /9 2, C. Cobfo 48—44— 92, N. S. Monk 49—41—90, C. Strom 44 — 45—89, F. Monk 46—42—88, T. Empson 42 — 46 — 88, H. S. Taylor 44 —42—86, R. L. Monk 3£— 46— 85, H. A. Lumsden 45 — 39 — 84 and V. La Greca 37 — 0 — 37. The winner of the trophy was Rifleman F. Freeman.
