Close Finishes At Weekly Sports Meeting
The attendance at the evening sports meeting on Wednesday mghu at the CLaki Domain was much better than the previ'ous week, but, not up to former meetings.. This! was no doubt due to the couniera^traction, the taients quest fina . . An inceresting programme was: run off, athletic events being featured, the cyclists having an easy time after a busy programme from Saturday to Tuesday. Several ofthe finishes were particularly , close. In one event nobody wou,d, have been surprised had a triple' dea'd-heat been announced, and. the crowd showed its appreciation of the eiforts of all competitors. It was announced that next j Wednesday wou'cl be Otaki 's iurnj ' to stage an inter-club night for the | Hunter Shie-d, . and some special i events can be looked for.
