Reeeived Friday, 9.55 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 3. Mr. John Belcher, who announced after the Lynskey Tribunat'o report that he woutd resign his post. as a junior Minister, today ' made a personal statement in the House of Commons in wnich he announced his resignation. He apologised for the part which any injudicious actions, indeed any indiscretions, on his part had played in bringing about the inquiry. Earlier the Attorney-General, Sir Hartley Shawcross, announced that no criminal proceedings would be instituted as a result of tne Lynskey Tribunal report. He added that Sidney Stanley's position was still engaging the attention of the proper authorities. After Mr. Beicher's statement, the Prime Minister, Mr. Att ee, move'd the adoption of the report. He announced that the Polisn authorities were being asked to recognise Stanley as a Polish citizen with a view to his removal from Engiand. Spotlight On "Contact Men" Mr. Attlee also announced that he had decided to set up a committee to inquire into the activities of "contact men." Sir Edwin Herbert, the well-known solicitor, would be the chairman. The names of the other members would be announced in a few days.
