NEW YORK, Feb. 2. The presideut of the Nationa! Wool growers' Assocmtiou, Mr. Sylvan Pauly, saiil today that the loss of sheep and cattle thruugh the severn winter, would run into several million head. The situation for woolgrowerr was extreniely had. The I'nited iStates eousuniptioii of wool was 1 ,000, 000. ()()( |iounds vearlv and the nation was pro dueing less than une-third of requireiiients. The Fnited Etates now had the lowest nuiniier of sheep at any timo siiu-e the civil war. A further reduction th rough the winter storms would be a very severe blow to the domestic woolgrowing industry. Mr. Pauly urged ('ongress to take steps to increase livestock herds on the western rauges.
