For a safe tan commence 3 with a short period of about ten mintites in the sun. Later it will be $afe and advantageous gradually to lengthen the exposure to the sun's rays. Ultra-violet rays from the sun manufacture Vitamin D in the skin. They tone up the skin and benefit the blood. While most suntan oiU or crearns help you tan safeiy by filtering out some of the ultra-violet rays, you may still get sunburn if you stay too long in direct suniighfc. Over-expo£ure to the sun, especially when you are exercising strenuously, may also iead to sunstroke or heat exhaustion.
