Young Farmers Will Go To Sydney Show
A member of the New Zealand Young Farmers ' Clubs organisation will go to tlu1 Sydney Royal Show to take part in Ihe Aust ralasian leadership contest. Ile will compete against eontestants from al! the Statos in Australia. At yesterday "s meeting of the Wellington Fouiu'il of the New Zealand Feileration of Young Farmers J Clubs, .M r S. Freetnan, organising secretary t'or the Federation, Qutlined the details of Ihe contest. He said that the linal contest, which will take place in the Australian Broadcasting Companies' studio on the Sydney Showgrounds, will last half an hour and each contestant will have three to four niinutes on the :ur, Fach contestant will be asked to discuss liis elub worlt, give his ideas on better cemmuiiity life, aud answer questions on his own branch of farni worlt. The lirst pri/.e will be £25 and the seeond prize £19. Mr Freeman said the elhmnation contest for the Wellington Province woulu l>e held in Palmerston N^rtli between February 28 and March 12 and would be broadcast. There were seven entrants from the Wellington Province. Ehminaation contests would be held at Palmers ton North, Christchurch, Dunedin and Auckland. The final would be held at Wellington on March 18.
