Inquiry Into Tararua Crash Exonerates Pilot

MASTERTON, . Feb. 3. - An inquiry into the crash of the Wairarapa . and Ruahine Aero Club's Tiger Moth in the Tararua ranges on Jantiary 23 was held in Masterton last night by the fiying committee of the club. „ It Was found that the plane was caught in a down draught, that the pilot haft no prior indication of the a'pproaching down draught until he found himself in the one that caused the crash, that the pilot made every effort to get out of the ' trouble and that the crash was not due to any negligence on his paft. * The pilot was Mr. L. D. G. Shepherd, of Featherston.
