Personal Miss N. Williams, of Lower Hutt, has joined the teaching staff "of the; local school. ' Back To School . Thcusual stillness of the early I morning, which has. prevailed over the pasc six weeks, was broken thismorning when the sound o'f chil-i dren's voices an'd hurrying. feet' could be heard as tney proceeded' to the bus for Horowheua College and, later as the younger pupils made their way to the local school. Judging by the happy voices and laughter, going back to school was not such e, bad experience after all. Preparing For Sports The Shannon Amateur Athletic and Cycling Glub has preparations well in hand for the Hunter Shield meeting, wnich is to be held on the domain this evening. The running track is in very good order. A heavy roller has been working on the cycle track over the weekend and today, so that it should be in first class condition for the big meeting. Competitors will be present from all over the district and some interesting finishes should be seen. The programme commences at 6.30 p.m.
