Team Chosen For English Cricket Tour
CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. '30. The chairman of the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council, Mr. D. E. Wanklyn, today announced the names of the cricketers selected for the tour of England this year. The team is: — W. A. Hadlee, captain (Canterbury). W. M. Wallace, vice-captain (Auckland) . C. C. Burke (Auckland)^ T. B. Burtt (Canterbury). .. G. F. Cresswell .(Mar'lb.orough)^.^ H. B. Cave (Wellington). J. A. Cowie (Auckland). M. P. Donnelly (now in England). J. A. Hayes. (Auckland)." F. H. L. Mooney (Wellington). ■ J. Reid (Wellington). G. O. Rabone (Wellington). ' V. J. Scott (Auckland). ; F. B. Smith (Canterbury). B. Sutcliffe (Auckland). » , ^ The manager is Mr. J. H. Phillipps,. O.B.E. (Wellington), and the baggage master is Mr. Warwick Watts (Auek^ land). All the men chosen for the teaxh' have passed a medical examination. It is understood that same players with good chances of seleetion did not pass the doctor.
