CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 27. Early this afternoon tlie man alleged to be concerned in the assault on a' • woman in her flat in Cashel Street, was arrested by the police. He w'.L appear in the Magistrate's Court tomorrow. The arrest, made by Detective C. P. Buriis, of the staff of the Central Police Statiou, followed intensive inquiries extending over a week. Half an hour after midnight last Thursdav, a wo'man living alone in a flat, was awakened by-a noise in her *bedroom. She was reported to have struggled with the intruder who made off leaving a rubber shoe and adhesive tape behind. Later it was discovered that the wires in a nearby street telephone box had beon cut. *
