Pairs Bowling Tourney

The Levin Bowling Club held a 'very enjoyable pairs tournament on Anniversary Day. The winner among the leads was R. M. Wickens. Two skips divide'd the honours, H. Powell and S. Hutton. Hutton is a visitor from Australia and will tour New Zealand with the Australian team shortly to arrive in the Dominion. On Wednesday the club had a visit from the Paraparaumu Beach Club. Eight rinks participated on each side. The result was a win for the visitors by five games to three. Levin were ahead on points, scoring 173 to 157. The individual results were: R. H. Henderson's rink lost 17 — 19, A. Meads won 30 — 12, P. C. Hill lost 17 — 20, H. Nicholson lost 18 — 26, H. F. McClune lost 22—25, W. Bull won 31 — i4s a. O. Powell won 28 — 20, and R. Laurie lost 10 — 21.
