Farmers' Queen Committee Has Field Day
A successful field day an.d Picnic was held at Hautere Cross on Moniay 'by the Farmers' Queen comnittee. The .attendance was fairly satisfactory, and officials were kept. :usy" with ' the numero.us events iraw'ing 'Cfuite". gbod. ehtries. The lommittee is indebted to' members. jf the Otaki Horse Club for their tielp in runriing the 'horse events. Variety was provided by the two Local marching teams, whose efforts merited the applause, and the Otaki Brass Band played selections during the afternoon. Russell for a jer'sey bull. Mr. H. J. Lancaster was the judge. A dance in- the Manakau hall at night wound up the- day 's activities. There was a-splendid- attendance, and a* most- -enjoyable time .was spent. During the evening the handsome Edna Taylor cup, which went'.'to.the, winnei; of, the. open jump, w&s presehted, a$ were t'he othef prizes wOn during the day;
