AUCKLAND, Jan. 24. Twelve positive cases of infantilc iparalysis, the greatest number in any week since tlie height of the epidemic in December 1947, were diagn'osed ip the Central Auckland health" district in the week ended midnight on Bunday. A further case was reporteii today.- ■ h '* Duringbfhfi Week 17 suspeeted cases of the diseake were admitted to tlio Auckland Hospital. One was declared riegative and 12 diagnosed as positive,. leaving four still on the suspect list. 1 hree of tliose still suspect were aijniitted during- the weekend. Northland had two cases of infantiie paralysis last week. These case^ brought the total in the north since tln* epidemic began, to 61. ' > Two cases of the klisease were also leported in tlie South Auckland health district in the week.
