GREYMOUTH, Jan. 21. A dispute idled the Strongman State mine today. This ls the fourth working day in 10 which the mine has lost Since production was resumed after the annual C'hristmas holidays. The other three days were lost on account of the 'death of a miner. A ciaim by a pair of miners for the bricking allowance is considered by the management to be unreasonable. At. a stopwork meeting at the mine this morning, the union decided not to work until a satisfactory settlement was reached. The) union secretary said that a lengthy stoppage was not expeeted, as negotiations between the union and the management commenced this morning.
