Personal Mr. T. McFetridge, of Otaki, is a patient at Amara Private Hospital, Levin. Mrs. J. Garrity and her family, of Wanganui, are staying with Mrs. M. Seal, Domain Road. Mr. W." Bradley, of the Otaki Post Office staff, nas been transferred to Johnsonville. Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Fearnley, of Otaki Railway, are visiting Wanganui on holiday. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Galloway, erstwhile resi'dents of Otaki, are spending a holiday here as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wilson, Waerenga Road. Card Evening Held A card evening in aid of the Maori Queen was held at the Beach Hall on Monday. There was a fair atten'dance and prizes were annexed by Mesdames Dodds and Gimblett, and by Messrs. Payne and Egdell. Consolations were awavded Mesdames Purvis and Gowdy, an'd Mr. P. Evans. A.competitio.i was •won by Mr. S. Brooks. Generous Donors All the trophies to be competed for at the greyhound meeting at Foxton on Saturday, when proceeds will be in aid of the Sports Queen, haVe been donated by Otaki supporters. The eleven races carry trophies as follows :— Puppy race, Watts trophy; Sapling stakes, Mason trophy; Maiden flat, Watts trophy; Novice flat, Eustace trophy; Limit flat> Burley trophy; Maiden hurdies, Wylie tropny; Novice hurdies, Rule and Rountfee trophy; Open flat, McFetridge trophy; Limit hurdies, Sports Queen trophy; Veterans flat, Yates trophy; and Open hurdies, Walton and Burgess trophy. Good Track Worker A winner at the meeting held last Saturday, Nigger Boy, a good looking black and white greyhound, is quartered at Otaki walt-ing for the coming- meeting. Touts _ say there is no limit to his capabilities. He is reported to ; have waiked round the track six times oh Tuesday morning, while on Weddesday he will be sprinted twice round, with a run up the straight on Thursday to "wind him up."
