Personal Miss' Mary McBeth, of Otaki, was a successful rider in jumping events at the Rongotea Show oh ' iSaturday. Business Changes i A local hostelry has changed 1 hands, while it is reported that a; ■change is to take place in a Main 'Street business shortly. . - Cyclists' Sucoesses Competing in the grass track cycle championships at Masterton on Saturday afternoon, placings were secured by Otaki riders as follows: D. Smith, a first, a second and a third; C. Wilton, a second; E. walsh, a third. Athletes were present at Marton, where one first was sgcured, only for the decision to be reversed. Greyhound Racing A crowd estimated at over 1000 saw the first greyhound races conducted on the new sand track at Foxton on Saturday. The meeting •was a huge success, and the track was considered . an excellent one. CompetitOrs' were present from far afiel'd. The. next meeting at Foxton is to be" held this Saturday' in aid of the Sports Queen in the Otaki Carnival. ' Buses will run, particulars of which appear in the advertising columns.
