Levin Gives 181 Pints Of Blood In Two Years
In two years during which five calls were made from the Palimerston North Hospital blood 'donors in Levin have given a total of 181 pints. This was mentioned ,'by the town clerk, Mr. H. L. Jenkins, at a meeting of the Levin 'Borough Council last night following the receipt of a letter of : thanks from the hospital board. 'Twenty-eight pints were taken j from Levin donors on May 3, 1 1947, 28 pints on May 27, ! 31 pints on September 30, : 46 pints on June 1, 1948, and 53 ! pints on December 14, said Mr. i Jenkins. In its letter, the board said it appreciated the excellent response iand co-operation received in l Levin by the pathologist. It was 'most encouraging and reflected cre'dit on the many volunteers. jSpecial thanks were due to the town clerk, Mr. Jenkins, for his j assistance, the letter added.
