Taupo, arrived back from England recently and is on holiday at his home at Tasman Beach, Otaki. Complimentary Dance The Otaki-Te Horo branch of the YOung Farmers' Club 011 Saturday staged a dance at Manakau in aid of the Farmers' Queen. There was a very large attendance, the accommodation being taxed to capacity, and -dancers appeared to enjoy themselves thoroughly. First class music was supplied b.y an orchestra from Palmerston North. Novelty dances were won by Miss B. Eaton and Mr. W. Bradley, and by Mr. and -Mrs. C. Mudgway. These prizes caused much merriment, being live barnyard exhibits. A further competition was w'on by Mr. Reg. Tayior. During the evening Mr. C. Lutz, on behalf of • the Young Farmers' Club, asked Mr. J. Miller, chairman of the Farmers' Queen Committee, to accept the proceeds of the function, and Mr. Miller thanked the club for its fine gesture,. Mr. J. Miller ably carried out the duties of M.C.
