. i Boys Help Catch Robbery Suspects WELLINGTON, Jan. 16. Tlie robbing of an aged crippled Chinese was followed by a dramatie chase . through "Wellington streets about 6.30 o'clock tonight. Foiir men were takeii into custody by tlie polic'e • and • questioned at tlie deteetive office. Gharges are to be made in Court tomorrow. It is reported tliat fonr men went "to the liom'e bf a Chinese, Sam You,' aged 51, in Haining Street, and asked him to change some moii ey. You, who- keeps a small business in' the house, was acquieseing to- the request when his wallet was snatched from. his hands by one of the men who made ofl followed by his companions. A hue and cry was raised by the Chinese and the sopnd of running feet attracted the at'tention of several youths in the nearby City Mission. From the almost incoherent cries of the Chinese, the words r'robbed" and ^money" were predominant. Ten youths from the Mission, quickly sizing up the , situation, gave ehase to.the four men. They ehased tliem down • to Yivian Street where oue of the men continued straight ahead and the otliers made ofl down Marion Street. These three rau into an alleyway about 20'yards down the street and the boys surrounded the bJock to ensure coverage of all exits. Several of the boys went down the alleyway and tliey'noticed^one of the men plant something while the other two made off. One of the boys retrieved the wallet and some letters written in Chinese from garbage against the fenee. The man who planted the wallet rau into' Marion Street and ti]) Vivian Street where he met the man who had remained there. They attempted to mingle with passers-b.v but were soon spotted and a])prehended by thb poliee who by then had been notified.
