New Zealand Frogs Protected Two species of- New Zealand frogs have been protected by Act of Parliament for some_tjme and by amending regulations gazeited last night, all species are brought under the protect on of the Act The amendment was made neces-, sary by the recent discovery that there was a third species of native frog - which, under the legislation in force, was unprotected. The protection necessary has been proidded by the inclusion of all species of the genus (Rarrettie Ghmesii) to which they belong, in the schedule to the Act. • 5
