Bowling Tournament
sEight rinks from Levin paid a visit . to Otaki ,at the weekend and, with the locai green in tip top order, a very §njoyable day was spent by the visiting and home rinks. Mr. J. D. Avery, president, in a few well chosen words welcomed the visitors and expressed the wish that .they would find conditions that siiited them, adding that Levin bowler's were at • alP times particularly welcome on the Otaki green. Mr. C. Larsen replied on behalf of the visitors. ' Otaki emerged the victors at the close of play scoring 168 to the visitors' 134 points and winning five games to the visitors' three. Results are as follows, Otaki rinks being mentioned first in each instance: — Noble, Gordon, Barton, Southgate (s) beat Scott, Lett, Powell, Mackay (s), 20 — 10; W. Jepson, W. Kendrick, P. Simcox, Kearns (s) beat Fitzgerald, Robertson, Best, Nicholson (s), 22 — 11; Atmore, Lambess, Temuera, Grey (s) lost to Baumber, Barnes, Harvey, Rolfe (s), 16—29; Grice, D. to Chapman, Burdekin, Burnham, to Chapman, Burdegin, Burnham, Powell (s) , 14—18; Sherlock, Whitelaw, Bartosh, "Walsh (s) beat Bull, Moss, Kilsby, Henderson (s), 32— -16; Jenkins, . Snowdon, McGilligan, Eaton (s) beat Ecclesfield, Noble, Hughes, Childs (s), 21 — 15; r.
