At tlie commencement of the dav's play, Miramar were oue win behind Maple Leaf and Richmond Baccooiis (Auckland). Richmond were .-defeated by Jenkins Gym (Wellington) and also by Miramar. Tlie biggest surprise followed when Kilbirnie Gym convincingly defeated Maple Leaf an'd Amazons (Wanganui) lost the opportuuity of beimr joint holders of the trophy by being beaten by liailways (Rutt) . In the last game of the day Miramar had to defeat

Jenkins Gyui to draw level with Maple Leaf and this they did but only aftem a tense struggle.
