Alore notornis or takahe have been focated in the Lalce Te Anau area by a party of 10 headed by Dr. R. A. Falla, Director of the Dominion Aluseuin, and directed liy Dr. G. B. Orbell, Invercargill. The expedition had little difficulty in finding the

haunts of the bird above the bushline and in tlie snowg.rass. Several fllms were taken. An oihcial report will be issued after Dr. Falla has reported to the iiiternal Affairs Department.
