First Store Lambs Meet Keen Demand

At the Levin sale yesterday storelambs made their appearance inlarge numbers for the first time this season, meeting with an ex--ceptionally keen demand. Woolly black faced lambs made up to 31s 6d -and Romney lambs 34s 3d. Shorn black faced lambs realised 24s and shorn white faced lambs 28s 2d! Fat sheep came for ward in larger numbers t'han last week and values remained on a par with recent saies in all sections. In the pig yarding, porkers and baconers filled the pens and agaln met with a ready sale. Store pigs. were in short . supply .and were keenly sought after.

In the cattle yards no dairy cows or heifers were brought forward and a small eiitry of store cows sold at schedule rates. A lig'hter yarding of fat cattle did not meet with a very keen sale.. The following is a range of prices realised: — Sheep: Prime fat ewes, 26s 10d to 27s 4d; medium do., 24s 7d to 25s 4d; prime heavy wethers (woolly), 50s lOd to 53s lOd; shorn do., 42s lOd to 43s ld; prime wethers, 39s 7d to 39s lOd; prime black faces, 39s 4d to 39s lOd; prime heavy lambs, 41s 4d to 42s 7d; prime lambs, 36s lOd to 37s ld; lighter do., 32s 4d to 34s 4d; prime heavy hoggets, 39s ld to 40s 4d; medium hoggets, 37s lOd to 38s lOd. Store sheep: Woolly black faced lambs (tops), 31s 6d; second cut, 25s; small shorn black faced lambs, 24s; woolly white faced lambs (extra, good) , 34s 3d; second [cut, 28s; shorn white faced lambs

(tops), 28s, 28s 2d; second cut, 26s 3d, 27s; culls, 19s, 19s. 6d and '20S 8d; shorn white faced ewe lambs, 25s.
