WFLLTXBTOX, Jan. 10. .For the lirst time in the history of Ihe Xew Zealand Post and Telegraph Depart ment, tui industrial nurse has been a])pointed to the General Pogt Olliep. She is ATiss Blanche Helliwell, of Christchurch. Aliss Helliwell, who is attaehed to tlie welfare braneh of the Post Ollice in Wellington, toolc up her position today. She trained at the ( 'hrislehureh Public Hos])ital and took her maternity training at the Wellington Public- Hospilal. I3efore the wrar she spent 2J vears nursing in Australia. During the warVhe was New Zealand eharge sister on the Xetlierlands IIos fiilal Ship Oranje for 31 .years. She undertook f'lunket training in Dunedin and before taking up her latest appoiiitment, was relieving Plunket nurse in ( 'liristclmrch. There are 3000 members on the staff at tlie General Post Office, including the staffs of the workshops, stores and garages, wko will eome under Miss ITelliwell 's eare.
