Decrease In Crime But More Children Before Court
The criminal cases heard in the Magistrates' Gourt, Levin, in 1948 show a decrease on the pre'vious year. A total of 168 cases Were heard last year, as against 237 the previous year. Trafiic offenders are also included in the cfiminal 'crassification. The civil caqes haVe shown a decrease, there beihg 123 heard last year as agaihst 148 ift 1947. Jiivenile crime shoWs an increase, ther'e being 71 children before the juvenile court, as against 51 the. previous year. MisCeilanepus applications totalled 52 ahd there ? were 68 in 1947.
