Bhe chiel event at Woodville will be the Pahiatua Cup, which has drawn a good class held. Tenor Royal is the ruling favourite, but i± Beau-Of continues on his improving way he should be one of the hardest to beat. He eertainly holds distinct prospects as also has Ngakoti,. who will appreciate the Woodville course.

Wairarapa form points tb Kentucky Star being a warm favourite for the Mangahao Highweight. at Woodville and one of the hardest to beat. Other form prospects are Lord Boswells, Palissy, Lady's Man and Master Gary. Swing Bridge and Solimbine will dispute f avouritism in the Konini Hack and look like fighting out the issiie. Arvastep, Sandaiwood and Lackamor are the best of the others. Beau-Or is reaching his best form again after a spell and judged oy the manner in which he uiiioiied m his Wairarapa races he is expected to improve on that -form in the Pahiatua Cup. Tenor Royal's Marton form is expected to maxe him a good favourite while solid support can be expected for The Stormovik, Ngakoti, who is improving and should find the Woodville course more to his liking than was the case at Marton, Mesaliiance and Kippo. Super Snipe should have little difficulty in winning the Juvenile Hancucap, strongest opposition being lixeiy from Gieam, Sweet Spray, The Laird an& Maranoa. There is no outstanding form in ihe • First Maiden Plate, which is iixeiy to be run in divisions, the iour best being Leighwin, Here's How, Fealty and Beauform. Form in the Eketahuna Handicap is fairly wiaeiy spread, the best performers over the hoiidays being Trafalgar Day, Tranquil Gold, Merry Bing, Lord Azure and Deep Sea. If a surprise is in store Mission is a iikely sort. However, the issue is expected between Trafalgar Day and Tranquil Gold. Both Leyma and Hush have hot been further back than fourth in

their last thr.ee starts and tne result of the Ballance Hack Handicap seem to rest with this pair on recent form. Of the others Foxtonian holds the best form while improvers are Matara, Carter Fell and Legendre. By a good third in the hack six on the last day at Wairarapa Follow Suit is the likely favourite for the Makuri Hack. Strong followmg will also be fo.rthcoming foi^ Dctermination, Airwyn, Vitesse and Show Mist.
