Crashed Aircraft Sighted From Air

AUCKLAND, Jan. 7. The Tiger Moth aircraft in whicn

Mr. B. M. Marshall, of Tauranga Aero Club, crashed in the Kaimai Ranges on December 31 was seen from the. air this morning. It was spotted by Mr. R. Graha'm, of Tauranga, about a mile to the* west of where the search party was searching on January 2. Only the taii unit could be seen. A ground party of Civil Aviation Department personnel will set out for the scene tomorrow. The area has been placed out of bounds by the department. When the plane crashed, Mr. Marshall was thrown clear and knocked unconscious. On regaining consciousness he could find no trace of the plane. Suffering from cuts to the head, shock and slight concussion, the pilot began a two and a lialf hours' journey through difficult country. Arriving at the edge of a property owned by Mr. J. Odey, farmer, of Minden, Mr. Marshall fell in an exhausted condition. His cries for help were heard by Mr. Odey, who gave hiip refreshments and medical attention at his home. Mr. Marshall was conveyed to the Tauranga Hospital by a passing motorist and was later discharged.
