Good Results In Grass Grub Spraying
The application of D.D.T. sprnys on I hedges and fruit trebs just before the grass grub beetles emerge has had spectacular results in killing beetles, the field superintendent of the Departxyent of Agriculture, Mr. C. J. Halnblyn, advised the ATorth Taranaki Provinciai Executive of Federated Farmers, in response' to an inquiry concerning what was being done to c'ombat the grass grub menace in Taranaki. " Applications to soils, however, kavc not given very good results, although further trials with other matoi'ials oi by imprOved methods xnay le'ad to better control, " Ali'. Ilamblyn said. Work in this direction was being planned for the near future.
