Britain's early warning radar system is to be tried out in a series of training exercises in cooperation with aircraft of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, be-, ginning on Sunda-y. ' - The warning system is operated by men and women voluiiteers of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force fighter control units.. In the exercises' peisonnel will in the main, operate away from their own units in four main seCtors," tfnb of which "Northern" includes Scotland. On exercise monthly will0 take plaee in each sector. The contfol and reporting system of the R.A.F. Fighter Command will operate during each exercise and it is intended that regular fighter squadrons shall take part as the • training scheme develops. For a number of volunteers this wiil be their first opportunity of seeing Britain's air defenee system at Work. Some of the fighter control units have been established withia the last thrjee months. .
