Whitley Triumphs In Sprint

The Marton Jockey Club's summer meeting was coneluded in showery weather, the track cutting up a little toward the finish. There was again a large crowd, and the totalisatoi handled £52,878 compared with £47,295 on the corresponding day last year, an increase of £5583. The aggregate for the two days was £108,720, as against £103,407 last year, an mciease of £5323. . . ... v. - An inquiry was held into the lmprovement m foim shown by Avenger, winner of the Rangitikei Hack Cup, but the explanation of the connections was accepted, and the judge s placings were allowed to stand.
