Personal The Mayor, Mr. J>. ,A. Fitzgerald, is Jat present on a business visit to Wellington. At the annual general meeting of the Shannon Volunteer Fire •Brigade, 'held on Monday, Mr. Q. D. Gyde' was re-elected' unoppose'd to the offiog of superintendent. Mrs. J. .; Ryrie, of Margaret Street, left last evening to spen'd a holiday wiith her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. McLochlan, Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Dowling, who, since their arrival from England a few months ago, have been resi'dipg with their daugihter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L. Schiwabe, of Moutoa,, have now purchased a home m Palmerston North. and have gone there to take up residence. Rouncil Meeting Postponed , The usual fortnighuy meeting of the Shannon Borough Couneil, which was to have been held last evening was postponed. The meeting will now be held next Tuesday and will be the last for this year.
