Beeeived Friday, 7.30 p.m. . : SYDNEY, Dec. 10.^ ■ A strong production drive by New South Wales coalrniners Tias virtually; assured a ' ' Wliite Christmas ' ' for Australia, aceording to a spokesman of the New South Wales Joint Coal . Board.' The output tliis year is now expected to ex-ceed last year's figure of 11,680,000 tons — an achievement regarded as al'most impossible a few weeks ago. 'The all-out drive of tlie past , few woeks has not. been paialleled since the peak year 1942. Including the 275,000 tons hewed this week the output. An' the past fortnight will reach the huge total of 580.000 tons, whicli is elose.tothe record. This week's - high output followed a record yield of 305,000 tons last week whieh included a Saturday shif t. ■ . . . . The mining unions are - expected to decide on Monday whether the nieinbers will work 6n Christmas Eve. Tliis will be necessary if last year's lignres are to be bettered. '
