rzec. ». Princess Elizabeth's son will be ehvistened at Buekingham Palace on Deeember 15, says a Buekingham Palace announcement. Reuter 's Court correspondent un'derstands that, had it not been for the illness of the King, the infant Prince might liave been ehristened in the little Chureh of St. Mary Magdelene, at Sandringham, where the King was ehristened 52 years ago. 'The private chapel,at Buekingham Palace, the seene of many former Royal ehristeiiingSy including that of Princess Elizabeth, is still unusable since a German bomb wreeked it. during the war. A room at the Palace, probably one of .the State rooms on the first floor, will therefore have to be prepared specially for the ceremony. The christening will' be a private family affair. Hie Archbishop of Canterburv will baptise the baby if recent precedent is folloAved. The ehristeniijg' robe will be the historie rolie of II o niton lace over a satin pettieoat worn by all of Queen Vietoria's ehildren at their baptisms. The names of the infant Prince and the names of the godparents chosen by Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh will be announeed on ■christening day.
