Showing that- urgent repairs estimated to .cost in the vicmity of £400 were required, a report on the council's reSidence was received at .the monthiy meeting of the Otaki Borough Council on Wednes'day night. It was decided that provision be made for this amoun 1 when the estimates. were prepaied next March. Several councillors considered the building to 'be an ''eyesore," an'd favdured redeeming it. Mr. H. Carmont was appointed as caj:etaker of the Rangiuru camp site for the coming holiday season. The Mayor, Mr. C. F. Atmore, pointed out that a Deputy Mayor had not been appointed following the resignaLon of Cr. E. T. Bartosh, an'd Cr. E. J. Cock was appointed. Cr. Cook thanked members and offered to do all in his power to assist. Cr. Retter was appointed chairman of the works ' committee, iwhile Cr.
