Experiments in the eradication of willows in the Makerua Drain by means of a weed killing hormone may be ■ carried out by the i Makerua Drainage Board. j A request for permission to carry |out these experiments was reeeivi ed at yesterday's meeting of the iHorowhnua County Council. The method of killing the willows Iwould be to inject the hormone Jinto frillirig in the tree. Frillin^ jwas the cutting of a thin ring of bark, explained the letter. ,, The .council's . engineer, Mr. W. H. Fraser, will inve'stigate the matter and take any steps which may be required.
