Another round in the C grade competition was started on Saturday, but unfortunately, owing to rain, our match with Levin was postponed after a start had been made with the games. Play had reached an interesting stage at this point but the men need a good deal of practice. Tne college courts were used for the opening games. In mv opinion, they are unsuitable for inter-club matches, especially in windy weather. No shelter is provided in Such conditions. A good weekend's work was carried out by. the club members in erecting the wire netting and generally bringing the new court into shape. It is hoped to have it ready for play in a week's time. Thanks are due "to those members , who gave up their weekends and who have done a rfeally excellent job. . At this juncture, I must also thank the small band of ladies ( who we have always been able to , rely upon for assiStance. A further, match in the B grade competition will be played next weekend.
