INYHRCAIUHLu Dec. 8. The generosity of Miss Xoeline Baker in presentiirg to the Government hor beautiful Htewart Island residence "Moturau Moana," with its many acres of untouched native bush and ar tractivelv landscaped gardens, was wannly commerided by speakers at a ceremony yesterdav afternoon whon Miss Baker otiicially handed over tlie property to the ilinistcr of Lands, Mr. Skinner, in the presence of a large av tendance of Stewart Jsland residcnts. The ceremony took place in brilliant sunshine in the garden residence which in fut-ure will be used by forestry and botany students as a training centre. Appreciation of the great value of Miss Baker 's gift. and his assuranee that'il would be of good use, was expressed by Mr. Skinner who said that from the botanieal point of view alone, the pro pertv was ideal for studies pf that science.. 1
