Carpenters' Union Re-elects Communist Secretary
AUCKLAND, Dec. 6. Well known as a (.'oininunist, Mr. II. Stanley was re-electcd unojiposed as secretary of the New Zealand Carpenters' and Joiners' Union at the annual cou fcrence just concludcd in Wellington. Othcr oiliccrs clected were: — Presideiit, Mr. P. IC Langley, of Clinstchurcli; vice-president, Mri W. A. Greig; cxecutive, ilessrs I). McEwen and J. 11. Freneli, all of Auckland. The conference protestcd strongly against tlie relaxation of buihling c.onCols belicving this wuuld further in- • -ica-c costs and aliow a (liversion of building uiaterials and labour away froni workers' housing.
