Fire In U.N. Assembly's Paris Headquarters

Received Wednesday, 10.55 a.m. PARIS, Dec. 7. Fire broke out tonight in • tbe cornmittee room of the Palais d,e Chaillot, the United Nations Assembly headquarters. Over 150 firemen were rushed to the blaze, which was extinguished in 45 min- ' utes. The fire broke out in an area largely cpnstructed of wood in the ground fioor. United Nations officials and typists grabbed papers from desks and made their way outside through smoke filled corridors. The damage from flames was not great, but the lobby and Paris wing were ankle deep in water.
