Egypt May Yet Lick Hand Of Britain
(N.Z.P.A-

Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 7. Possibly as the result of the deteriorating Egyptian military situation in Palestine, attempts are being made to prepare Egyptian public opinion for an unconditional resumption of Anglo-Egyptian talks, states the Daily Mail's Cairo correspondent. 1 The United States has now replacsd Britain as the chief objective of Egyptian dislike and the Egyptians, confronted with the faet that only Eritish troops in the Canal Zone may stand between them and Jewish incursions into Egypt, are showing noticeably less antagonism towards Britain. It is regarded as signiiicant that the influential pro-Government weekly newspaper Akbar el Yom, which is sometimes described as the offical organ of Abdin Palace, has been publishing a series of articles by prominent Egyptians advocating the reopening of talks with Britain.
